About Phil

My journey into the performing arts and Eastern philosophies began in 2009 when I immersed myself in acting studies at The Acting Corps in Los Angeles. I was eager to explore human expression and emotions, and acting provided the perfect medium. At The Acting Corps, I learned the fundamentals of acting, discovering how every movement, gesture, and facial expression could convey meaning. This experience was transformative, but I felt I needed more to truly master the craft.

In 2009, I enrolled at the Munich Film Academy, where I spent two years refining my skills, not just as an actor but also as a storyteller. The academy provided me with a broader perspective on filmmaking and taught me the importance of understanding the technical aspects of cinema, such as directing and editing. This well-rounded approach to the art of film helped me appreciate my role as part of a larger creative vision, deepening my appreciation for storytelling as a whole.

Despite my growing understanding of acting and filmmaking, I felt there was still something missing. I wanted to explore the psychological aspects of performance in greater depth. In 2012, I moved to London to study movement psychology with James Kemp at Room One. This was a significant turning point in my development. Kemp’s teachings revealed the profound connection between physical movement and psychological states, showing me how body language and posture could be used to express a character’s inner world.

The study of movement psychology opened up new dimensions in my acting. I began to understand how even the smallest physical cues could reveal a character’s emotional state, allowing me to tap into deeper, more authentic performances. This work helped me access emotions and states of being that I had previously struggled to express. It was a pivotal moment in my career, as I realized the potential for using my body as a tool for psychological exploration.

In 2013, I sought to deepen my understanding of acting even further by enrolling at the Susan Batson Studio in New York. This renowned studio emphasized Method Acting, and during my time there, I focused specifically on working with the inner child technique. This approach required me to confront emotions and memories from my own childhood, allowing me to access raw, unfiltered emotions. The experience was intense but incredibly rewarding, giving me the ability to tap into vulnerability and bring that authenticity to my performances.

The inner child work helped me understand how much of our emotional expression is rooted in early experiences. By working through these emotions, I was able to break through emotional barriers and connect with my characters on a deeper level. Susan Batson’s guidance was invaluable, helping me navigate this challenging emotional terrain while maintaining control and focus in my performances.

In 2015, after my time in New York, I sought mentorship from Bernhard Hiller, a renowned life coach. Hiller’s holistic approach helped me align my personal values with my professional goals. His teachings focused on self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and personal growth, which became essential not only for my acting but also for my overall development as a person. Around this time, I also studied with Lisa Haisha, the creator of SoulBlazing. Haisha’s work emphasized personal empowerment and breaking down the layers of ego to reveal the true self. Her approach resonated deeply with me, helping me uncover new levels of emotional depth and authenticity in both my acting and personal life.

While I had made significant progress in my understanding of the mind and emotions, I realized I had yet to explore the spiritual dimension of human experience. In 2016, I began studying meditation, Qi Gong, and Tai Chi under the guidance of Shaolin Master Shi Yang Bao. Over the next two years, these practices transformed my understanding of the body-mind connection. Meditation helped me cultivate mindfulness and emotional balance, while Qi Gong and Tai Chi improved my physical control and energy flow.

These practices not only grounded me but also provided a powerful tool for emotional regulation. I found that the balance and calm I developed through these practices translated into a more focused and centered approach to acting. The integration of these Eastern philosophies into my life deepened my understanding of the importance of harmony between mind, body, and spirit.

As my studies in meditation and Tai Chi progressed, I became increasingly interested in how internal balance could influence my external environment. This led me to study with Master Chang Kim Hua from 2020 to 2022, focusing on geomancy, Feng Shui, and Chinese astrology. Master Chang’s teachings gave me a new perspective on how the energies in our environment affect our well-being. I learned how to apply Feng Shui principles to create harmonious spaces that support mental and emotional health.

Through my studies with Master Chang, I developed a unique hermetic ritual system that integrates the wisdom of both Eastern and Western traditions. This system is designed to harmonize an individual’s will, mind, emotions, and actions, creating a sense of unity and balance in all aspects of life. It is rooted in my exploration of geomancy, meditation, and the teachings of Franz Bardon, a 20th-century master of Hermetics. Bardon’s works on initiation and the Kabbalah helped me bridge the gap between these different traditions, enriching my understanding of the forces that shape our lives.

Looking back on my journey, I can see how each step has shaped who I am today. My studies in acting, movement psychology, meditation, and esoteric traditions have all contributed to a deep understanding of human expression, both on and off the stage. Acting, for me, is not just a craft—it is a way to explore the depths of the human experience. My studies in Eastern philosophies have given me tools to navigate the complexities of life with balance and grace, while my exploration of esoteric traditions has provided a framework for understanding the interconnectedness of all things.

The combination of these diverse experiences has given me a unique perspective on acting and personal development. Each discipline I have studied informs the others, creating a rich tapestry of knowledge that I draw upon in my work and daily life. As I continue on this path, I am excited to see where it will lead me next, knowing that every experience will deepen my understanding of myself and the world around me.
